Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between 60-72-month-old children's views on participation rights and their self-regulation skills. The study was conducted according to the relational survey model that is one of the quantitative research methods. The population of the study consists of 60-72-month-old children and their teachers who are studying in the kindergartens of official independent kindergartens and primary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Afyonkarahisar city center in the 2022-2023 academic year. The sample of the study consisted of 40 teachers and 350 children who were determined by simple random sampling method. 'General Information Form', 'Scale of Participation Rights in Preschool Classroom (Child Form)' and 'Instrument for Measuring Self-Regulation Skills of 4-6 Year Old Children (Teacher Form)' were used as data collection tools. Descriptive statistics, T-test, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Pearson Correlation Analysis were used to analyse the data. In line with the findings obtained from the research, it was concluded that the children were of the opinion that they had a low level of participation in the classroom and their self-regulation skills were at a high level. It was concluded that there was a significant difference between children's views on participation rights and children's gender, number of siblings, mother and father's education level, father's occupation and teacher's education level; and there was a significant difference between children's self-regulation skills and children's gender, mother and father's education level, mother and father's occupation and teacher's education level. In the study, it was determined that there was a positive and low-level significant relationship between children's views on participation rights and their self-regulation skills.
