Abstract (EN)
THE LEVEL OF STATE ANXIETY AND ITS INFLUENCING FACTORS IN PREGNANT WOMEN WHO APPLIED EMERGENCY SERVICE BECAUSE OF HEMORRHAGE Objective: This study was conducted to determine the state anxiety level and the influencing factors in the hemorrhagic pregnancies applied to the Emergency Service. Method: This descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out with 255 pregnant women with hemorrhage who applied to the Emergency Department of Antalya Training and Research Hospital, Antalya, and accepted to participate in the questionnaire. Data were obtained using the Personal Information Form and State-Anxiety Inventory. In the analysis of the data, nonparametric analysis methods were used. Mann-Whitney U-test was used to compare the mean values of the two groups and Kruskal Wallis H-test was used to compare the mean scores of three or more groups. Results: As a result of the study, it was determined that the factors affecting the state anxiety levels of the emergency patients were; the noise caused by the machines in the emergency service environment, the foreign environment, the ward system, the comfort of the bed/chair, the crowd, the situation of the other patients and the difficulty of communication between the emergency service personels and the environment. It has been determined that the loss of pregnancy in the past, the cause of bleeding, the way it started, the time of onset, what is done first, transportation, first contacted place, who decides medical aid, feeling during bleeding, fear of loss of baby or loss of his/her health, the care given in emergency room, noise of telephones and staff, smell, temperature, lighting, ventilation, foreign tools, number of beds, being visible to others at any time, no television/ radio, witnessing other medical procedures performed and no visitor entry, were not statistically significant. Conclusion: It was determined that the emergency environment affected the anxiety level of the pregnant women while the bleeding had no effect on the state anxiety level in the wards. It may be suggested that the emergency services should be arranged to improve the psychosocial health of the pregnant women. Key words: emergency, pregnancy, hemorrhage, anxiety
