Abstract (EN)
Although Afghanistan is one of the countries with the lowest access to electricity globally in terms of population, research shows that it is rich in reserves of both renewable energy sources and traditional energy sources. While Afghanistan has ample potential for conventional energy sources, most of the infrastructure has been destroyed over the past decade by war and instability. Therefore, most of the electricity is imported from Central Asian countries and Iran. Because Afghanistan has suitable natural and geographical conditions, it can benefit significantly from renewable energy sources such as hydro, solar, geothermal, wind and biomass. From a theoretical point of view, the use of renewable energy in Afghanistan can play a crucial role in providing sustainable energy for its population and contribute to sustainable economic development. In this study, the energy resources that are the subject of underground riches in Afghanistan and the types of renewable energy are discussed. Then, heating a greenhouse in Herat and Kandahar cities of Afghanistan with a heat pump using solar energy was investigated. As a result, it has been determined that the greenhouse to be established in the cities of Herat and Kandahar in Afghanistan can be heated with solar energy.
