Afyon University School of Medicine Hospital between the years 2010-2011 Retrospective evaluation of the applications of spinal anesthesia

Aim: Our aim is in line with our findings of spinal anesthesia in patients who underwent scanning were retrospectively associated with complications following reasons put forward as possible on behalf of fewer complications and give direction to achieve the best results is to reach the quality of anesthesiaMaterials and Methods: Our study in Afyon Kocatepe University Medical School between January 2010 and January 2011, had surgery in spinal anesthesia, ASA I, II, III, which is a group between the ages of 16 and 91, 365 male and 247 female percent of the total, 612 patients were evaluated retrospectively. During the application 22, 25,26 gauge spinal needle, bupivacaine and levobupivacaine was used. Standart monitorization was performed to all patients and sistolic, diastolic and mean arteryal pressure; heart rate, peripheral oxygen saturation were recorded by deterimined intervals. The data of the patients were collected from patients file, from forms of anesthesia monitoring and from their. Complications related to spinal anesthesia, and the positive and negative factors that may influence SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences for Windows) 17.0 program to evaluate all the data is loaded. The data were as assessed with T-test, Chi-Square, spearman?s correlation tests.Results: Complications was not associated with the use of fentanyl, sex, height, weight, age, ASA, local anesthetics, and surgical clinics. All patients, systolic and diastolic blood pressure and heart rate showed a significant reduction in rates after application. Found no significant correlation between needle diameter, 35-45 age group, anal fissure surgery,ankle surgery and the complications. (p<0,05) No evidence of complications increased with the growth of the diameter of the needle was reached only bradycardia. Anesthesia had significantly lower satisfaction for patients who develop complications.Conclusion: The development of complications was associated with young-middle age group, and selection of the spina needle. It was concleded detailed preparation of the patient monitoring forms, uniform and carefully filed, after the regular filing required for determining the factors that cause complications and in order to assess the success of treatment detailed preparation of the patient monitoring forms.
