Abstract (EN)
Pumice, which is found in granular form in nature, is a volcanic rock with a light, sponge-like disjointed hollow glassy texture. Terra rosa, on the other hand, is a soil type that contains plenty of lime and clay in its content, which is found in lands with high limestone content. In this study, samples were produced by using certain ratios (10%, 20%, 30%) instead of cement in the concrete mixture of volcanics (Tuff, pumice) and terra rosa in Afyon and Kütahya regi-ons, and a control sample that did not contain volcanites was also produced. Tuff (volcanic ash) from the volcanics to be used as building raw material was obtained from the Afyon-Gecek thermal springs region, terra rosa was obtained from the area between Kütahya-Çöğürler village and pumice was obtained from the area between Kütahya Kumluyurt and Göçeri villages. CEM I 42.5 R cement produced by Eskişehir Çimsa was used in the concrete mix. In addition, the slump and spreading table test, which is one of the fresh concrete tests, was also carried out during the sample production phase. In order to determine the chemical, physical and mechanical properties of the produced samples after curing periods of 2, 7, 28, and 90 days, hardened concrete tests were carried out as compressive strength, abrasion, free-zing and thawing, bending, ASR resistance. It was determined that the use of terra rosa increased the workability of the concrete, and the use of pumice reduced it by 15%. When the concrete compressive strengths are examined, it has been determined that the concretes with tuff additives have a 40% loss in strength, and the concretes using pumice give high strength at early ages and high strength at early ages, while concretes using terra rosa give better compressive strength at an early age. When the alkali silica reaction, freeze-thaw and abrasion tests were examined, it was seen that the use of terra rosa, tuff and pumice up to 20% had positive effects on the durability of the concrete. It has been determined that the natural materials used in the study can be used in concrete tech-nology due to the positive results obtained.
