The description of Afyonkarahisar local culture with collage technique (1930-1960)

Culture involves all the material and spritual values of soceities which are in process of development. These values are transmitted to next generations. Culture is also the whole of the tools that show the individuals‟ sovereignty to their natural and social environment. It is an inevitable phenomenon that the societies which do not know their own cultural values and wealth gradually fade away. The biggest problem of the individual and the society who lack the culture which can be named as the heritage of the past to today, who lack a future vision and who do not have any idea about future is not-knowing, even being unaware of not-knowing. All generations must recognize their cultural values. A society that cannot transmit its culture to the next generations is in danger of losing its national personality and identity by cultural corruption. This way, societies confront the danger of losing their nations, states and and homelands without a military war. At this point from past till today, the works which sustain the traces of these values must be kept, evaluated and transmitted to the next generations. Taşpınar magazines, which are one of the main sources in this thesis, which do and will reflect daily life, spatial organisations, social experiences directly to our day, handles the progress in the consciousness of the culture and art in society effectively. Especially the structure of city sites changing in time and illustrated with photos have a wide substantiality. In this context, by the work done, the local culture discussed in research articles in Taşpınar magazines and also the importance of the progress in social consciousness for art will be emphasized. Raising awareness about aggrandizing the culture and artistic values that need to be revitalized and developed will contribute to the development of people and society.
