Abstract (EN)

In research, the neotectonic processes control the genesis and the development of Akhüyük travertine mass have done at the 10 km northern of Ereğli County. Akhüyük travertine mass that consist of 6 different crack ridge elongate through N 30o W direction in the area. The basic criterions are as the morphology, thickness of the banded travertine and elongations on the classification of the travertine. The determination of the dehiscence speed of travertine based on the thickness of the banded travertine and Uranium (U) series dating of Akhüyük Travertine at the means of neotectonic. As the conclude Akhüyük travertine mass show isotopic compatibility with the other Central Anatolian areas at the neotectonic means while also believed to be controlled by Tuz Gölü Fault Zone.
