Abstract (EN)

This study examines the method of hadith explanation through the example of Akkirmani's (d. 1174/1760) Sharh Al-Ahadıth Al-Arbaın, of which the first seven hadith was explained by Birgiwî (d. 981/1573). This work carries the general characteristics of hadith sharh literature. Akkirmani expounded the ahadith by following Birgiwi's eight aspect method. Akkirmani focused on the grammatical structures and meanings of the words and sentences. He also examined the hadith texts from the aspect of rhetorical principles. Akkirmani studied the narrated texts from the aspect of sıhha by benefiting from internal and external textual information. Based on wording and content, he brought evidence from ayats, ahadith and poetry. Where there were seemingly contradictory narrations, he used combining and reconciling method in explaining them. Akkirmani projected the principles of Hanafi and Maturidi schools in his sharh. He used Hanafi literature effectively. He did not shy away from the problems of social life. He tried to solve the problems faced in a reconciliatory understanding. Sharh Al-Ahadıth Al-Arbaın stood out as one of the best examples of forty hadith literature both the information it contained and also its systematic approach and wording style. Keywords: Birgiwi, Akkirmani, sharh, language, narration, rhetoric, give evidence, narration chain.
