Abstract (EN)
It has been aimed to determine whether the serum urotensin level is significant at early diagnosis of acute mesenteric ischemia, which is a group of diseases that are to diagnose difficult and have high mortality. The study has been planned with the approval of Firat University Clinical Researches Ethics Board in Fırat University Faculty of Medicine General Surgery Department. Total 60 patients, 20 of whom were diagnosed as AMI, 20 of whom had nonspecific abdominal pain and 20 of whom did not have abdominal pain (healthy control group) were included in the study at Fırat University Medical Faculty General Surgery Clinic. The samples were centrifuged and stored at -20 °C to measure serum "urotensin 2" levels. Demographic information and D-dimer, Lactate, AST and ALP values of the patients were recorded. The data obtained in the study has been presented as the mean ± standard deviation. The one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) tests, post-ANOVA tests, Tukey B and Scheffe tests have been used to assess the differences between the groups. In addition, the Pearson Spearman correlation tests have been used in the analysis of the relationships between the data in the groups. The lowest level of significance has been determined as P<0.05. 7 male with AMI and 13 female patients were included in the study. There was no statistically significant difference between the levels of urotensin II in the control and abdominal pain groups. Compared with the control group, there was a statistically significant increase in U-II values in the AMI group (p<0.05). In terms of Lactate and ALP values, there was no statistically significant difference betwen the AMI group and the other two groups. D-dimer AST levels were significantly higher in the AMI group (p<0.05). It is concluded that significantly elevated U-II values in the group of acute mesenteric ischemia may provide an important insight into the pathophysiology of acute mesenteric ischemia, acute mesenteric ischemia with high mortality can provide early diagnosis and thus early treatment of acute mesenteric ischemia, and in the future, further and detailed experimental and clinical trials may be tried in U-II-related treatment approaches. Key Words: acute abdomen, acute mesenteric ischemia, urotensin-2, intestinal necrosis.
