Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, CrN and various protective surface coatings are being implemented, to avoid severe wear on material surfaces. The scope of this work is the investigation of the CrN tribological properties of the effect of Al and Ti addıtives on tribological properties of CrN coating. Therefore, improvement of tribological properties of machine parts that suffer from wear and friction, contribution to companies' industrial tests, and production of thin hard surface coatings are targeted via this research. In this work, CrN, CrAlN and CrAlTiN, coatings were deposited on 1.2714 hot die steel via the Cathodic Arc Evaporation PVD method. Firstly, the coatings' surface morphology and thicknesses were examined by SEM. Afterwards, phase properties of alloying elements were determined by XPS, and the chemical composition of specimens via EDS and surface adhesion performances were analyzed by Scratch Test. Also, hardnesses of surface coatings were detected by microhardness and nano hardness tests. Finally, to analyze the tribological properties of specimens and impact loads performances which are frequently faced in the forging industry, ball-on-disk and impact sliding tests were done in a room atmosphere and on lubricated surfaces.
