Sarcophagus from West Necropolis of Alabanda

ABSTRACT İn this context, as a result of the survey that was carried out through 2012-2013 542 sarcophagus' were identified in the east and west necropolis and the sarchopagus' in question were first enumerated according to the inventory list of the diggings and were later photographed. Furthermore the drawing of 21 sarcophagus' that are solid and out in the open were finished during the 2013 excavation season. Because at the beginning of the Project the Alabanda Sarcophagus' had never been worked on, the main structure of the thesis was formed during and after the excavation season in the area. Afterwards the traditional burial of the dead, sarcophagus types and a literature review in other areas related to the subject and the retrieval of the missing sources was performed.
