İnterior Design Oriented Sense Of Navigation : A Case Study İn Gaziantep ABSTRACT Ever since people have existed, they had the need for shopping. The development of shopping places started with caravanserai, which were followed by arasta, bedesten (covered turkish bazaar) all the way to modern shopping centers of today. Earlier people used to shop for their basic needs , but today people do shopping not only to purchase their basic needs but to socialize ,to spend their free time, or to obtain a more luxurious lifestyle. As human needs evolved over time , products that people purchase and places where they shop also evolved. Advances in technology , changes in people's lifestyles, led them to a more demanding day to day schedule. People try to achieve work-life balance while they have intense work schedules. Shopping centers are sophisticated places where people can find all they need in one location. İts really important that people can find what they need, when they have limited time. The goal of this study is to use (principles of easy navigation in a building) to help people find their way in buildings easily. Our study is backed up with a survey which was taken by 100 users. We evaluated how people find their way in a building and made suggestions. Keywords; Shop, shopping center, principles of easy navigation in a building
