Abstract (EN)
Effects of ischemic preconditioning and ischemic postconditioning onischemic reperfusion injury of the lower extremity skeletal muscle in therat modelsYAZAR ADI: Tuğrul Ünsal GÜNEŞAim in treatment of cardiovascular diseases is to provide the continuity and integrityof circulation. The detrimental effects of repefusion is much more greater than the destructioncaused by just ischemia. Most of the destructive effects caused by reperfusion is related withfree oxygen radicals. In this study we aimed to investigate the effects of ischemic post-conditioning overischemia reperfusion injury, to compare with effects of ischemic preconditioning and tosearch the effects of preconditioning on postconditioning period.40 Wistar albino rats were divided into 5 groups. In the sham group medianlaparotomy was performed without ischemia. In the control group 120 minuts of ischemia and60 minutes of reperfusion period are formed. In the postconditioning group, postconditioning was performed after 120 minutes ofischemia. 60 minutes of reperfusion was provided after ischemic preconditioning and 120minutes of ischemic period in preconditioning group. In the last group, after preconditioning, 120 minutes of ishemic period was followedby postconditioning.Significant results were obtained by the measurement of MDA and NO levels in thestudy groups. We can suggest that, preconditioning and postconditioning can attenuate thedestructive effects of reperfusion.
