Establishment to drug utilization in the elderly over 65 or more years old knowledge level

The aim of this study was to examine polypharmacy in the geriatric people andevaluate to factors what on the effects of use medication.Our research, in to practise, on the 250 elders who accepted to join the studyand living on the Afyonkarahisar contry, Sinanpaşa district, Tınaztepe town, betwenMarch 2009- May 2009.In the study, the questionnaire form applied as face-to-face including 21questions which examined such as demograpich conditions, number and kind ofchronic disease, taking medication, drug using time, regularly take medication anddrug utilization knowledge level, routine go to doctor visits, reason of application tophysician and situtaion profit from health societys.Descriptive statitics for summary were used for statiscal analyses forcollected data what questionnaire results and regular use medication between oneffect of them connection research with correlation analyse way.In the study showed among living our region who over the age of 65 age,polypharmacy is frequently and taking drug knowledge level is low. Most importantfactor to affected knowledge level is age of geriatric people.
