Abstract (EN)

There aren't production of aluminum alloy fittings in Turkey. However, cast iron fittings are fragile and low machinability. In addition TSE EN 10242 is insufficient to increase the design and engineering properties of standards. To overcome problems, aluminum fittings have been developed in four stages in this thesis. First, different design geometries, standards, measurements and scientific researches in the literature have been examined. A ring-shaped design has been developed in the maximum stress zones. and the inside surfaces are angled. As a result of the weight increased by 0.5% compared to other design geometries, while the pressure resistance property improved by 11%. This new design geometry has a total of eight design parameters. Using Taguchi Method, Variance Analysis and Finite Elements Method, the effect ratios of design parameters to engineering properties were investigated. As a result, Design has been determined for minimum weight and maximum safety coefficient. 6061-T6 alloy was tried to be strengthened as aluminum fitting. 6061 materials reinforced with Cu, Fe-Cu and Fe-Si elements were cast with die casting. Furthermore, in addition to these alloys, liquid metal matrix composite products were obtained with B4C powder additive and then T6 heat treatment was applied in industrial environment. Mechanical and microstructure properties of materials; microhardness measurement, tensile test, optical microscope and SEM. In these machining operations of aluminum materials, energy consumption is measured by using current transformer and ammeter. PI(A), P shear(W), SEC (J/mm3) and SCEC (J/mm3) values of each material were calculated by applying energy-power transformation equations.
