Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the effects of amateur choirs on people and their contribution to public musical culture in their home cities by considering Eskisehir Odunpazarı Public Education Center Turkish Classical Music Chorus as the example. This is also qualifies as a study that shows which attributes individuals attach importance when they joining a choir, reasons of joining a choir and also shows the choir members' profile considering age and profession. Nowadays as a result of rising interest to amateur choirs, these groups' quantity is rapidly increasing. The Eskisehir Odunpazarı Public Education Center Turkish Classical Music Chorus was chosen for it's conductor who has been training for 44 years without a break. I'm giving thanks to my advisor Ins.
