Investigation of the relationship between quality of life and leisure time disability levels of amputee football players

The research was conducted to examine the relationship between the quality of life and leisure time disability levels of amputee football players. The universe of the research consists of 156 football players in the amputee super league. Among 156 amputee football players, 100 football players on a voluntary basis formed the sample group of the research. Quantitative research methods were adopted in the study. Relational screening model was used to examine the quality of life and leisure barrier verticals of amputee football players. In the research, "personal information form", "quality of life scale" and "leisure time barriers scale" prepared by the researcher were used as data collection tools. The data obtained in the research were subjected to statistical analysis in the IBM SPSS program. When the findings obtained in the study are evaluated, the descriptive findings of the general quality of life perceptions are examined; quality of life scale perceptions (𝑥̅=3.74) were determined to be high. When the sub-dimension averages of the general quality of life scale are examined; It has been determined that physical space perceptions (𝑥̅=3.89) are high, psychological space perceptions (𝑥̅=3.74) are high, social space perceptions are high (𝑥̅=3.84), environmental space perceptions (𝑥̅=3.56) are high (Table 4.13). Pearson correlation analysis was performed to examine the relationship between the variables, and according to the results of the correlation analysis; It was determined that there was a low level of positive and significant relationship between the general quality of life and the level of leisure time barriers (r=0.262). This result means that there will be an increase in the general quality of life of the athletes when the level of leisure barriers is improved. On the other hand, it was determined that there was a positive and low-level significant relationship between the general life quality levels of the athletes and the dimensions of individual psychology (r=0.237), lack of knowledge (r=0.228) and facility (r=0.266) (Table 4.30).
