Abstract (EN)
Antibacterial textiles are used to protect from microbial infection by inhibiting the growth of microbes or annihilating them. This study compares different methods, fabric types, and pretreatments for antibacterial performance with green synthesized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). It also aims to explain the influence of plant extract, silver nitrate (AgNO3) molarity and volume, fabric pH etc., on silver nanoparticles synthesis and antibacterial efficiency. This research demonstrated synthesizing AgNPs from C.arvensis weeds and C.reticulata fruit peels. For this purpose, after preparing plant extract, the silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized from silver nitrate (AgNO3) using plant extract. The synthesized nanoparticles were incorporated into the fabrics by various methods such as padding, immersion, sol-gel, etc. Next, the AgNps-loaded fabrics were characterized by SEM, EDS, and XRD. Latter, antibacterial tests were done for the fabrics. This study derived an equation for plant extract amount, explained nanoparticle morphology, and investigated the best AgNPs loading method and fabric structure for antibacterial activity. It also discovered recoverable antibacterial property loss of AgNPs-loaded fabrics. The reason behind this exceptional behavior of AgNPs-loaded fabrics is also explained. It is envisaged that this study might contribute to producing cheap and effective antibacterial products. Key Words: Green synthesis, sol-gel, antibacterial textiles, silver nanoparticles, nanoparticle morpholog
