Abstract (EN)

\ \ ABSTRACT A STUDY ON EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT SOWING DATES OF HERBAGE, SEED YIELD AND PROTEIN RATIOS OF COMMON VETCH (Vida saûva L.) IN ANTALYA ECOLOGICAL CONDITIONS Bilal AYDINOGLU M. S. Thesis, Department of Field Crops Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sadık ÇAKMAKÇI January 1999, 65 pages This experiment was carried out in the research field of Faculty of Agriculture, Akdeniz University in 1997 and 1998. In the study, common vetch (Vicia sativa L.) was sown in 9 different times as winter and summer sowings. For the green herbage and seed yield features, some differences were searched among sowing times. Significant differences were found among planting dates except crude protein ratio in seeds in winter sowings. In the conclusion of the experiment, the most suitable sowing time was found to be between November 1st and 20th for winter sowings and early days of March for summer sowings, respectively. KEY WORDS: Common vetch (Vicia sativa L. ), sowing date, yield, protein ratio COMMITTEE: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sadık ÇAKMAKÇI Prof. Dr. İbrahim BAKTIR Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bülent SAMANCI
