Abstract (EN)
Objective: Aortic aneurysm, dissection and/or rupture are rare diseases which effect elderly people and have high mortality rates. There are some difficulties in diagnosis and radiologic procedures are preferred for diagnosis. These procedures have disadvantages like high costs and contrast agent uptake. In our study we purposed to determine the diagnostic value of ischemia modified albumin in aortic pathologies.Method: 98 patient which applied emergency room and their diagnosis was confirmed with spiral BT angiography and the control group which include 101 healthy people were included in the study. The ischemia modified albumin studied in blood samples which were taken from both groups.Findings: The average value of ischemia modified albumin was found 0,88849±0,211 (p<0,001) in aortic aneurysm group; 0,70171±0,126 (p<0,001) in aortic dissection group; 0,97785±0,235 (p<0,001) in aneurysm and dissection group; 0,83693±0,169 (p<0,001) in aneurysm and rupture group; 0,867±0,278 (p<0,001) in the group which aneurysm, dissection and rupture are together; the average value of ischemia modified albumin of all aortic pathologies was found 0,876±0,214 (p<0,001). The average value of ischemia modified albumin of patients which were in control group was found 0,61692±0,179.Conclusion: Ischemia modified albumin value was found statistical significant in patients which have aortic aneurysm, dissection and/or rupture (p<0,001). But the İMA value has not a statistical significant difference between aortic pathologies (p=0,126). Although angiography is the definitive diagnostic method in aortic pathologies, spiral BT angiography is still most preferred diagnostic method. Ischemia modified albumin has a potential to be a diagnostic and following marker for patients which has suspected aortic pathology.Key Words: Ischemia modified albumin, Aortic aneurysm, Aortic dissection, Aortic rupture
