Abstract (EN)

The Research on Distinguishing and Mapping of Forest Site Unity in Artvin-Genya Mountain (Artvin Forest Administration Chief Office Sample) This study, investigates the criteria for site classification and mapping for Genya Mountain located in central Manegement District in Artvin State Forest Enterprise. In this study, 112 sample plots were taken systematically to determine physiographic, edaphic and climatic factors. Among the factors gathered in field and laboratuary studies, physical factors such as elevation, aspect, slope and edafic factors such as physiographic soil depth, soil skeletion and water holding capacity of soil were found to be the most effective factors to distinguish forest site group forest site unity. In conclusion, 16 different ecological soil series were determined. Also 68 different forest site unity differentiated regarding at least one of the factors mentioned above and the sites were mapped. According to the water regime of the sample plots, 6 forest site group (dry,moderate fresh, fresh, moist, arid and sub-arid) were distinguished.
