Abstract (EN)
Capillary Refill Time is a parameter used to evaluate blood circulation in peripheral tissues. Currently, it is measured manually and implementation varies according to the health care staff. It is included in the World Health Organization (WHO) Emergency Classification and Assessment guide. There is no commercial device that standardizes applied force to detect blood supply in the capillaries. In this project, it is aimed to control the light absorbed from the light sources used by applying light sources, linear actuators and microprocessors to the fingertip of a known force for a certain period. In this way, CRT can be measured. Capillary Refill Time and pulse measurement device was designed in this project. The designed device applies pressure to the fingertip in a short time for blocking blood circulation (when the pulse is zero) in the capillaries. After the pressure, the time of the tissue when it regains its previous color is measured. This is called Capillary Refill Time. If CRT is less than 3 s, it is considered normal. If this period is prolonged, it may indicate an unhealthy condition in the circulation. CRT may be important in clinical symptoms. Capillary refill time can also be important in evaluating clinical findings such as cardiovascular diseases and shock. Applied force for capillary refill time measurements is standardized in this device. This device is controlled by a microprocessor. It can monitor the pulse measurement until the moment when the pulse is zero because when the pulse is zero, blood circulation stops.
