Abstract (EN)

The aviation industry is undergoing a profound transformation with Aviation 4.0, integrating advanced digital technologies such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, and Cybersecurity. This thesis explores their impacts on aviation operations, maintenance, safety, and passenger experience. Airlines leverage Big Data and AI for predictive maintenance, optimized flight routes, and improved fuel efficiency, reducing costs and enhancing reliability. The integration of these technologies significantly impacts Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations. IoT enables real-time monitoring and predictive analytics, enhancing safety and maintenance efficiency. Cloud Computing supports efficient data management and real-time decision-making. Robust Cybersecurity measures are critical amid increasing digital threats. These technologies also promote environmental sustainability and resource management. Innovation, regulatory compliance, and workforce training are crucial for navigating Aviation 4.0 as well. Through literature reviews, expert insights, and case studies, the thesis examines current implementations and future potential, offering recommendations for stakeholders. By providing a foundational understanding and addressing associated challenges, this thesis aims to foster a more efficient, safe, and sustainable aviation industry.
