Abstract (EN)

Democratization process in the candidate states of European Union is the subjectof this thesis. Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey are chosen as exemplary candidatestates for this thesis. In all these three countries democratization gained its peak aftertheir application for the full membership.Copenhagen Criteria, which became a map for these three candidate states, playsan important part in the stability of the institutions guaranteeing democracy and ruleof law.European Union indicates the fact that the framework of concept of rule of law,human rights, minority rights and democracy had to be drawn clearly before thenegotiations get started.Finally, the fact that EU has affected the democratization process on thesecountries is shown throughout the thesis. In this framework, this effect is analyzed byusing yearly reports. This analysis will be comparative between three countries,Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.
