Abstract (EN)
Efforts to prove the women their presence in economic, social, and political spheres in society can be traced back to the French Revolution. The idea of "equality for all individuals" proclaimed during the French Revolution laid the foundation for the women's rights movement. Over the years, significant progress has been made in the struggle for gender equality. However, there are still many societies where men and women are not treated equally in various areas of life. One important area where this inequality still exists is politics. The insufficient representation of women in political decision-making mechanisms, which has become a common problem in societies, has led to a search for solutions. In this regard, the European Union has formulated specific proposals and prepared reports and agreements for candidate countries in order to promote equality. These countries have implemented various regulations, particularly in the political domain, to promote equality within society as part of their commitment to the European Union's candidacy and membership process.
