Abstract (EN)

In this research, firstly the historical structure of the European Union was examined. The purpose of this research was to study the effects of the 2004 Enlargement of the European Union on Poland and Hungary. In this research, place was given to ideas and views of philosophers. The emergence of the idea of the Union and its effect were discussed. Theories and types of integration have also been discussed. These studies have been useful in the understanding of the European Union. Later, the process of the European Union's formation was researched. For integration, tangible economic and political steps were taken after the Second World War. For this reason, the process of formation was examined from this time. The treaties which created the European Union was explained. Finally, the economic structures of selected countries' were analyzed. These analyses were made with the use of some macroeconomic numbers. At the end of these analyses, the countries' positions were considered. This assessment was given a place in the Conclusion Chapter.
