The research of the preacher of Hagia Sophia Hamdulla Hayrettin's life, works and book is named "Rusûhu'l-Lisân fî Hurûfi'l-Kur'an"

The main purpose of this paper is the investigation and critical edition of the work "Rusuh'ul Lisan fi Hurufi'l-Kur'an" of Hamdullah b. Hayreddin who preached in Hagia Sophia and was a scientist in the field of recitation; he was also known as "the Preacher of Hagia Sophia". The paper also aims, in this context, to provide insights into the life and oeuvre of Master Hamdullah. He was a prominent person who authored important works especially in the field of the Science of Quran Recitation. The paper consists of three sections, i.e. introduction, three subsections. The first subsection deals with the essential terms such as Tajweed, Qira'at, Kurrâ, Rivayet, Ravi and Tariq. Since the work investigated is concerned with the Science of Recitation and Hamdullah b. Hayreddin, the author of the work, was a Recitation Scientist, this subsection especially deals with the definition and importance of the sciences of Tajweed and Qira'at. The second subsection handles the life, the period he lived in and the scientific personality of the author. Besides, this subsection also gives information about his works, being the one titled "Rusuhu'l-Lisan fi Hurufi'l-Kur'an" investigated in this paper. The third subsection includes the text based on the investigation of the work Hamdullah b. Hayreddin's "Rûsûhu'l-Lisân fî Hûrûfi'l-Kur'an", the main objective of this paper.
