Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT Synthesis of Aza Substituted 16E-arylidenesteroid Derivatives Steroid derivatives are important molecules for organic chemists due to their interesting structural and stereochemical properties. The aim of this work is to synthesize novel steroid derivatives, which have indole and benzimidazole rings. In this study, O-Alkylated aromatic aldehydes derivatives were synthesized from the nucleophilic substitution reaction of 1-bromo-3-chloropropane, 1-bromo-2-chloroetane and different phenol derivatives, which have aldehide functional group. The base-catalyzed Aldol condensation reaction of O-alkylated aromatic aldehydes with trans-dehydroandrosterone was carried out at room temperature and 16E-arylidene substituted steroid derivatives were obtained with high yield. Benzimidazole and indole substituted novel 16E-arylidene steroid derivatives were synthesized from the reaction of - unsaturated enone derivatives with benzimidazole and indole compounds.
