Abstract (EN)

In this study, some of the chemical and physical parameters were measured in water samples taken from 3 stations on Azap Lake, which is located within the borders of Söke district of Aydın province, between April 2017 and February 2018. These stations were chosen as the entry of Yeşilköy Creek into Azap Lake (southeast of the lake), the lake portion of Azap Lake - Büyük Menderes River connection channel (northwest of the lake) and the midpoint of the lake. Throughout the study, samples were taken monthly from the sampling stations, and the values (general mean, standard deviation, and seasonal mean) obtained during 12 months were examined. In order to determine the water quality, the samples taken from all three sampling stations were examined in terms of dissolved oxygen (mg/L), salinity (ppt), pH, temperature (°C), electrical conductivity, phosphate (mg/L), sulfate (mg/L), total hardness (mg/L), total alkalinity (mg/L), magnesium (mg/L), calcium (mg/L), nitrite (mg/L), nitrate (mg/L), ammonium salt (mg/L), ferrous (mg/L), lead (mg/L), copper (mg/L), cadmium (mg/L), nickel (mg/L) and zinc (mg/L) (totally 20 parameters). The annual mean physico - chemical parameters data obtained were compared statistically between the seasons. It has been determined that the lake has Class IV water quality and it is risky for aquatic organisms to live, and it is not suitable for aquaculture. In addition, the current water quality status was found to be suitable for certain months of breeding of hot water species such as carp.
