Baghdâdi's presentation of theoloğical madhhabs' understanding of the sahâba-in the context of al-Farq Bayn al- Firaq-

This thesis clarifies madhhabs' views about the Prophet's Companions based on the work of Abd al-Qâhir al-Baghdâdi namely al-Farq Bayn al- Firaq. al-Farq Bayn al- Firaq, which was written by Abd al-Qâhir al-Baghdâdi in the fifth year of hijria, has a noteworhy importance in terms of both madhhabs' views and classifications. Namely "Madhhabs' understanding of the companions on the basic al-Farq Bayn al- Firaq", which is preferred by virtue of the significant value as a thesis subject, consists of two chapters and introduction. First chapter is composed of three titles, and the very first chapters cover Abd al-Qâhir al-Baghdâdi's life experiences, the times he lived, enlightenments, personality and the first verbal outputs according to him. The second title comprises of his works, and elaborates on al-Farq Bayn al- Firaq. The final title emphasizes the identification of madhabs and Companions notions, the way recognition of Companions, the rank of Companions, the virtue and justice of Companions. Futhermore, it is referred to Islam the Sunnis, and congregation classifications. The second chapter puts emphasis on "al-Farq Bayn al- Firaq" on the Basis of the Companions' Understanding''. The titles, which are issued of the thesis in this chapter, are as follows: Tarudiyye which is from Zaydiyya faction, Sulaymaniyya and Butriyya, Kâmiliyya fuction of Imamiyya, Hawarij al- Muhakkimata'l-Ula, Sufriyya, 'Ajârida and Ibâdiyya factions, Wasıliyya of Mu'tazila, Amrawiyya, Nizamiyya Hişhamiyya factions, Bakriyya, Karramiyya, Sabaiyya, Mughıriyya, Maymuniyya and Ahl al Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah.
