Abstract (EN)

Energy consumption has been increasing in recent years and is increasingly concentrated in cities. For this reason, cities and universities find potential sources to produce their own energy and they also work for energy saving and efficiency. In this study, the technical and evaluation of an on-grid and off-grid photovoltaic energy system is made for public service in Bilecik. For analysis, PVsyst 7.2. is used. PVsyst software is a commonly used as a simulation software to estimate the efficiency of photovoltaic systems and to optimize system design. Firstly, in five different solar tracking system the performance analysis of stand-alone power plant, which exist installed 550 Wp, is performed. These analyzed systems are fixed axis system, seasonal axis system, horizontal axis system, vertical axis tracking system and dual axis tracking system. The monthly average solar radiation and ambient temperature data used for the analysis are obtained from the PVsyst databases. In these analyses, monthly available solar energy, system efficiency, missing energy, panel, final and reference efficiency, performance ratio, panel and system losses are compared for five different tracking systems. Among these five different solar tracking systems, highest available solar energy and lowest loss energy are seen in dual axis tracking system as 1049.9 kWh and 57.03kWh, respectively while lowest available solar energy and highest loss energy are observed as 764.77 kWh and 93.36 kWh, respectively. The energy, which is produced by that system and cannot be used because of being redundant, was seen as 297.23 kWh in the dual axis tracking system and as 51.84 kWh in the fixed axis system, respectively. In addition, technical and economic analysis of with 2 kWh power designed grid connected photovoltaic energy system has been executed for Bilecik Seyh Edebali University. As a result of this analysis, it was seen that the power plant can produce 3109.6 kWh of energy as annually and its average performance ratio is 0.837. In this economic analysis, it was observed that the investment cost to carry out for such this power plant is 11560 TL and its payback duration is 5 years. The results of these studies have shown both the performance and economic feasibility of stand-alone and grid-connected power plants, and also for real investment consequents of this work have served as such successful development of the system.
