Abstract (EN)

Brake systems are the mechanism designed to stop or slow down a moving vehicle. Braking is the result of the conversion of kinetic energy into heat energy by friction. Today, disc brake system is used on the front wheels of passenger cars and drum brake system is used on the rear wheels. Disc brake system is preferred on all wheels, front and rear, in new model passenger cars and motorcycles. In this research, brake pad samples produced by powder metallurgy at different pressure parameters were examined. The main purpose of the study is to produce and examine lining samples in different pressure parameters in accordance with the TS555 (2019) standard with materials suitable for environmental conditions. Lining samples 6 different samples were produced at 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 MPa pressures. Wear, density, hardness, surface roughness, friction test and SEM analysis were performed on the produced lining samples. The friction coefficient and wear rates of the lining samples produced as a result of the experiments were found to be appropriate.
