Abstract (EN)
Research; It aims to examine the historical and social history of the Balkan Turks, who have continued their struggle for national existence in the territories of Western Thrace (Greece), Bulgaria, Macedonia, Kosovo, Romania and Gagauz for centuries, within the framework of national themes in contemporary Turkish poetry. The first part of the research is the historical background of the Balkan Turks. In this section, historical information is given in order to be able to connect poems with historical and social events. The second part consists of national themes that form the main subject of our thesis. Under the heading of the national themes we have mentioned, the poems written about the country, language, nationalism (Turkism), immigration, war and resistance, religion and Atatürk are analyzed. Therefore, poems written on this subject have been compiled. Poetry books of Balkan Turkish poets, Voice of Western Thrace, Hak Ses, the publication organ of the Romanian Democratic Turkish Union, Türkçem, Sabaa Yildizi and Sesler magazines, and the poems we compiled from other anthologies on the subject constitute the sample of the study. In the third part of the research, we examined the poems that we classified under the title of national themes in terms of language and style. In this section, we used Doğan Aksan's "Poetry Language" and "Turkish Poetry Language" book and İsmail Çetişli's "Text Analysis Introduction 1" as reference book. We examined the language and style analysis of poems under three headings: "Verbal Arts and Meaning, Use of Daily Speech Language and Poetry Structure." And in the appendix part of the research, we included the poems from the magazines that are difficult to access from the poems we examined. The findings obtained throughout the research show that the historical process of the Balkans for centuries has not been separated from poetry, which is a branch of literature. Both the years of Ottoman rule and the events that took place in the years after the Ottoman Empire find their reflection in the poem. The real dimension of the assimilation policies, torture and war massacres applied to the Balkan Turks continues to exist in poetry.
