Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the battery management system, which has an important place in electric vehicles technology, has been simulated with different battery chemistries and using a hybrid electric vehicle and a battery management system has been modeled. According to battery chemistry, a different battery management system has been developed in the literature, but the control of different battery chemistry with a single battery management system has not been achieved yet. Different voltage levels and capacities make it difficult to manage batteries from a common management system. This is one of the main problems in electric vehicle technology. In the study, batteries with four different chemistry (Lithium Iron Phosphate, Nickel Metal Hydride, Nickel Cadmium and Lead Acid) were turned into battery packs and controlled in two different ways with the same battery management system. Initially, all batteries were charged with a fixed DC supply. Secondly, the batteries are integrated in a hybrid electric vehicle model and discharged while the vehicle is moving and then charged with the generator. In both cases, the operation of the battery management system was analyzed. As a result of studies in this thesis, one of the basic problems of electric vehicle technologies, control of batteries with different chemistry with a single battery management system is examined.
