Abstract (EN)

X-ray and Gamma radiation absorption thicknesses are calculated by using the mass attenuation coefficient values of lead, aluminum, air, water and some biological matters accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standard in the literature. An equation can directly calculate Half-Value-Thickness (HVT), between 0.001 MeV and 20 MeV has proposed. Equation constants are specific for radiation absorbing material. The half value thickness values changing versus by energy is shown. Tenth value thickness (TVT) and repeat thickness value can be calculated by using HVT. In this study, the proposed equation could be practically calculate the radiation shielding thickness.
