The comparison of humor styles among physical education and sport academy with the other faculties

The aim of this study is to compare the humor styles of physical education and sports school students with some faculty students and to examine the related factors. A Toplam of 777 students (417 girls and 360 boys) who were studying in Yozgat Bozok University during the academic year 2017- 2018 participated in this current study voluntarily. Data were collected through "Humor Styles Scale" which was developed by Yerlikaya and personal information form prepared by researcher. SPSS 16.0 program was used to analyze the data. Descriptive statistics were firstly examined in the analysis of the data. The data were first tested for normality tests. In this context, the normality test (skewness-kurtosis) showed that the data had a normal distribution. For this reason, parametric tests were applied. Additionally, descriptive statistical methods, independent samples t-test and One-Way ANOVA were used for the analyzis of data. As a result; affiliative humor dimension: there were significant differences in terms of gender, department of study and activity variables, but no significant difference was found between the other variables. Self-enhancing humor dimension; there was a significant difference in the department of study variable but no significant difference between the other variables. There was a significant difference in the aggressive humor dimension between sex, gender, department of study, sports age, activity, place of residence and smoking. There was no significant difference in terms of other variables. Self-destructive humor dimension; there was a significant difference in terms of age of athletes, activity and alcohol use variables. There was no significant difference in terms of other variables. Toplam humor dimension; there was a significant difference in terms of department of study, sports age and alcohol use variables.
