Abstract (EN)
This study mainly questions the belief system in and around Bilecik tombs through archival records and fieldwork. First of all, mausoleums in Bilecik and all its districts and villages were identified and fieldwork was started and the mausoleums were examined in situ. Thus, it has been revealed that the Central Asian Turkish belief system is dominant in the tombs. The number of mausoleums and relics, some of which are from the Ottomans and some from the time of the National Struggle, are quite high within the borders of Bilecik. The tombs of Ertuğrul Gazi, Şeyh Edebali, Dursun Fakih, Kumral Abdal, Abdullah Mihal Gazi and İsa Sofi, who were among the important figures of the Ottoman establishment period, are located within the borders of Bilecik province. In addition, the Tomb of Martyr Bilecik Mufti Mehmet Nuri Efendi, who undertook important duties and responsibilities in the National Struggle, is also located in this geography. Comprehensive oral interviews were held with the local people about the religious practices around Bilecik tombs. Bilecik tombs have developed quite a bit in this sense and the people have some religious expectations from the tombs. However, there are shrines around which religious practices are formed, and there are shrines where these practices are not developed. In general, these shrines are shrines belonging to state individuals. Especially in the Hatip Abdullah Tomb in Harman village and Mehmet Nuri Efendi Tomb in Deresakar village, such practices did not occur. However, in the tombs of which the identity is unknown, superstitions have developed more and are still maintained. The religious practices around the tombs are given in detail in the study. The number of tombs with architectural value among Bilecik tombs is less than those without architectural features. These shrines are generally shrines belonging to state individuals. Others were invested in the first place, and then, as a result of the efforts of the local people, a building was built on them and gained the value of a mausoleum. This information is also included in the study.
