Abstract (EN)

Today, the rapid development of technology brings with it many innovations. Three-dimensional modeling, various modeling programs and other similar contemporary architectural tools, which are one of these innovations that have become widespread especially by architects, designers and students, provide an opportunity to help individuals understand every detail in design clearly. With photorealistic imaging in computer-aided visualization, designers can develop their projects more effectively and better meet customer expectations. The first chapter of this study explores the examination of photorealism in computer-aided visualization through built environments. The chapter includes the research's purpose, significance, problem, limitations, and definitions. The second chapter presents a literature review. Within the literature review, concepts of space, perception, and computer-aided design software used in architectural design processes were discussed. Additionally, examples of rendered interior and exterior design were examined. The third chapter focuses on the methodology employed in the research. The fourth chapter investigates built environments created through photorealistic rendering, comparing them to their real-life counterparts. The study specifically examines The Vessel, San Francisco Salesforce Tower, 111W57 in New York City, Milano Bosca Verticale, and the Birmingham Library. The fifth chapter includes the discussion and conclusion of the research. In the sixth chapter, recommendations were provided. This study examines the advantages, disadvantages, and effects on perception of using photorealistic visualization in spatial designs based on the literature review. As a result of this study, designers who engage in three-dimensional visualization should align their designs with their clients' values in all aspects. It was believed that designers who align their values with their actions will not only avoid unrealistic designs but also foster loyalty with their clients.
