Abstract (EN)

The study used a Hermeneutic Single Case Event Design (HSCED) to understand the process of change in couple therapy and its impact on relationship satisfaction. Using a mixed-methods approach, quantitative and qualitative data were collected over 19 sessions from a young couple addressing communication problems, including change interviews. In light of the rich case file, affirmative and skeptical arguments were produced as to whether the changes observed in the clients could be attributed to therapy. The results indicated that the change experienced by the couple and the increase in their satisfaction could be attributed to therapy. Both the quantitative results showed an increase in the couple's CRS score and the qualitative results supported the change interviews and the Helpful Aspects of Therapy (HAT) change. The couple emphasized that the most important factor in facilitating change was the secure relationship established by the therapist. Findings are analyzed in relation to existing literature, with consideration of their implications for both research methodology and clinical practice. The study's contributions to the field are examined, alongside an acknowledgment of its limitations. Additionally, potential avenues for future research that could build upon these findings are proposed.
