Abstract (EN)

Energy is one of the most important parameters for development of the nations. The provision of energy in an economic, environment friendly, sustainable, continuous and reliable way is a docket topic all over the world. As a developing country, Turkey has a situation over average of the world in the view point of the energy consumption. Since the energy input cost is high, it must be used economically. The 35 percent of the energy consumption is realized by the industrial establishments; therefore, an energy optimization study on these areas will be advantageous to reduce the energy shortage. In this study, the required parameters to get optimum solution on the energy consumption of an automotive factory have been defined. The required procedures for the calculation of energy recovery and its cost have also been explained. In this way, the available potential of energy recovery for all sections in the factory has been determined with the sample energy saving studies. For this purpose, the points of the plant which have relatively more energy consumption have been assigned for the optimization process. As a result, taking the annual and daily working hours of the plant for both summer and winter seasons into consideration, it has been determined that the pumps have a saving of 130.000 kWh which means a ratio of 30,2 percent. Keywords: Energy Optimization; Thermal Losses, Boiler Efficiency.
