Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, the Jamaat-e Islami movement is examined from theoretical perspectives within the context of social movements. The aim of the study is to explore the ideological foundations, historical development, and social and political impacts of Jamaat-e Islami, thereby positioning this movement within the context of social movements. The study employs case analysis, one of the qualitative research methods. The study reveals that Jamaat-e Islami argues for the consideration of Islam not only as a system of belief and worship but also as a social and political system. The movement emphasizes that Islamic values should form the basis of social order and that Sharia should be implemented. Additionally, Jamaat-e Islami has played a significant role in the processes of social and political change in India and Pakistan. When examined within the context of social movements, Jamaat-e Islami has created a comprehensive impact as both a religious and political movement. Its resource mobilization, ideological framing, and political strategies have enabled it to significantly influence the social and political structures in South Asia. However, the extent to which the movement's ideological and political goals have been achieved and the challenges encountered in this process reveal the complex nature of the movement and the dynamics of social change.
