Abstract (EN)
Seismic isolation systems are utilized to reduce the earthquake effect. Recent advancements in technology caused an increase in the employment of these systems. However, classic isolation systems are expensive. Therefore, many alternatives to the classic seismic isolation systems have been developed. In this thesis, the effect of using a combination of the bitumen-sand mixture and high-strength foam known as EPS on the seismic performance of 4 story structure is examined. Displacement, acceleration and relative displacement results of the isolation system are studied, and the performance of the presented combination is found ineffective. It is suggested to avoid using this system in highrise structures and perform multiple analyses for better assessment.
