Abstract (EN)

The primary objective of this research is to integrate blockchain technology into the conventional operations of takaful insurance, with the ultimate aim of establishing a more robust, transparent, and efficient insurance system. By leveraging the distinctive features of blockchain, such as distributed ledgers and smart contracts, the study seeks to enhance the traceability of insurance processes, ensure the security of data, and thereby offer enhanced services to customers. Additionally, the adoption of blockchain-based takaful insurance endeavors to foster a fair system through a more transparent approach to managing and distributing participants' contributions. The initial phase of the study involved an exploration of the fundamental principles of blockchain technology, alongside an analysis of its potential impact on the insurance sector. Drawing from existing literature, special emphasis was placed on the decentralized nature of blockchain and its pivotal attributes encompassing security, transparency, and data integrity. Furthermore, the research delved into the practical application of blockchain technology in crucial areas within the insurance sector, such as data sharing, smart contracts, and claims processes. Subsequently, attention was directed towards InsurTech, a technology integral to conventional insurance practices, and its contributions to the industry within the InsurTech Ecosystem were brought to light. This contextualization aimed to shed light on the potential advantages that could arise from incorporating blockchain technology. The study then shifted its focus to takaful insurance, thoroughly examining its fundamental principles, contemporary challenges, and distinctions from traditional insurance frameworks. By doing so, the research sought to identify specific areas where blockchain-based solutions could yield improvements. A comprehensive analysis of the potential advantages and disadvantages of adopting blockchain in takaful insurance was conducted. Furthermore, a representative scenario, the "Blockchain-Based Takaful Model," was presented to illustrate the plausible implementation of blockchain-based takaful insurance. Throughout the study, the research highlighted the merits offered by blockchain-based takaful insurance in comparison to traditional takaful insurance. Moreover, the research addressed how blockchain technology could serve as a viable solution to address the criticisms levied against the conventional takaful system. To conclude, the study proposed detailed solutions as remedies to the identified criticisms, thereby contributing to the advancementof takaful insurance practices.
