Abstract (EN)
With the development of technology, the need for electrical energy worldwide is increasing day by day. Although fossil fuel reserves in our world are limited, they are constantly decreasing. Considering that fossil fuel reserves are decreasing day by day and the damage they cause to the ecological system, the importance of providing energy needs from environmentally friendly and renewable sources is understood in order to develop a permanent solution. Developing countries such as Turkey with high renewable energy potential should make their energy policies and investments accordingly in order to reduce foreign dependence on energy. This thesis study consists of two parts. In the first part; In order to use the InP nanocrystal film, which is a group III-V compound semiconductor, as a window layer in photovoltaic solar cells, the effects of boron doping on the film will be examined. It will be used as an additive in growth solutions of different concentrations of boric acid. The effect of boric acid added to the films at different rates on the structural, optical and electrical properties of the film will be examined and the feasibility of the film as a suitable material for solar cells will be examined. In the second phase of the thesis, a study was carried out to meet the electrical energy needs of the Orhaneli Youth Center project, built by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, with photovoltaic systems. A comparison of grid expansion and an off-grid system is made. Homer (Hybrid optimization model for electric renewable) software was used in this study to calculate the technical and economic parameters by simulating the operation of the system. The cost analysis of the energy demand of the region with renewable energy sources was evaluated techno-economically. In the load profile analysis, it is seen that the working hours of the facilities serving the public are 08:00-17:00, and consumption outside working hours is low. It has been observed that public buildings can benefit from solar energy at the maximum level. It has been observed that producing photovoltaic solar cells with certain amounts of boron additive increases the efficiency of solar cells; It has been evaluated that if the electrical energy needs are met with boron-doped photovoltaic panels, depreciation periods will decrease depending on efficiency, and research and development activities on boron-doped solar cells will contribute positively to the country's economy. In this context, suggestions are presented to meet the electrical energy needs by utilizing solar energy in public buildings.
