Abstract (EN)

In present study the effect of season, year, number of lactation and calving age on milk and reproductive traits were examined in 255 Holstein cattle in central region of Burdur. Mean values of 305 days milk yield, lactation length and dry period were 5735,67 ± 70,49 kg, 330,45 ± 2,61 day and 81,21 ± 1,98 day respectively. Among the reproductive traits, first insemination age, age at first calving, service period and calving interval were 572,43 ± 9,13 day, 842,79 ± 8,54 day, 124,37 ± 3,32 day and 398,47 ± 2,94 day respectively. Effect of lactation number and season on 305 days milk production were found statistically significant (p<0.05), however, effect of year and age were not significant. Additionally, the effect of season and year on first insemination age and first calving age were not significant The effects of all of the factors on the service period and on the calving interval were not significant. As a result of this experiment, the performance parameters of the Holstein cattle from Burdur province can be accepted as fair enough under Turkish condition. It can be concluded that further training and therefore gained experiences of the farmers, by the time, associated with the improved management and feeding
