Musical elements of folk culture in Çeltikci district, Burdur

The thesis study includes major music practices, local concepts and facts of the culture in Çeltikçi District, Burdur. Richness and variety of verbal melodies, which are defined in the center of the district besides the lack of studies on the field, paved the way for the study. Musical elements, which are found in the district, are defined according to compilation methods and techniques. Firstly, existing written records on folk culture of Çeltikçi District were defined as part of the study. Afterwards, information on literal and musical assessment of verbal melodies are also included in the study by compiling visual-audial materials that are practiced in the field. Data on folk culture and history are also studied in the thesis study. Folk music samples, which are held as a result of studies on the field, were documented in musical notes and written documents. The samples were also statistically evaluated and general determinations were included with graphics and tables. Key Words: Burdur, Çeltikçi, Folk Culture, Turkish Folk Music
