THE EFFECTS OF LEADERSHIP TYPES ON STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT IN PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SCHOOL MANAGEMENT IN GEMLIK DISTRICT OF BURSA PROVINCE ABSTRACT This study aims to examine and compare the current situations of Private schools and Public schools and The Effects of Leadership Types on Student Achievement in Private and Public School Management in Gemlik District of Bursa Province. General definitions of Public Schools and Private Schools were searched, and their quality, administrative structure, quality of teachers, curriculums, and educational and social opportunities they offer to their students were evaluated. Structures of Public Schools and Private Schools, academic quality, and factors that affect the school success in both academic and social ways were determined, role of school directors, their leadership types, and how their leadership types affect achievement at school were determined. In this study besides surveys to determine leadership types, face-to-face interviews with school principals and vice principals were also conducted.
