Abstract (EN)
At this study, the mechanical and physical properties of clay bricks which were produced by adding grounded glass were investigated. Experimental samples were produced by adding grounded glass to the brick clay obtained from Afyonkarahisar region in promotion to 2,5 %, 5 % and 10 % - control series are 0 % - as appropriate to the plastic shaping method. The samples were fired in laboratory type electrical furnace at three different temperatures as 850 ºC, 950 ºC and 1050 oC.The physical and mechanical tests were applied to the fired samples. The changes in microstructures and mineralogy of the samples were evaluated according to the SEM and XRD techniques. Finally it was concluded that the glass addition affects the sintering positively and increase mechanical properties.
