Abstract (EN)

Benthic diatoms were determined in this study by collecting samples composition from 10 stations through the Dardanel strait coast (Turkish Strait System) between the years of 2013-2016. Samples were identified taxonomically and investigated biogeographically. Totally, 928 diatom valves were investigated. As a result, 42 genera and 85 species were identified. Amphora bigibba var. interrupta, A. graeffeana, A. pseudohyalina, Berkeleya antarctica, B. rutilans, Cocconeis guttata, C. irregularis, C. latecostata, Delphineis karstenii, Denticula subtilis, , Diploneis aestuari, D. stroemii, Fallacia nyella, F. subforcipata, Fragilaria eichhornii, Glyphodesmis distans, Halamphora staurophora, Haslea brittannica, H. nautica, Lyrella clavata, Mastogloia gieskesii, Navicula pontica, Nitzschia fusiformis, N. reversa, Parlibellus delognei, Plagiotropis lepidoptera var. minor, P. lepidoptera var. proboscidea, Proschkinia complanata, Psammodictyon rudum, Pseudostaurosira perminuta, Seminavis basilica and Tetramphora rhombica were reported as "new record" status for "Turkish Marine Benthic Diatom Flora".
