Abstract (EN)
This research was carried out to obtain women's clothing standard sizes to be used in clothing production and to compare these measures with the metric system. The universe of the research; consists of adult women living in Eskişehir and Bursa, of Turkish nationality, between the ages of 18-65, who do not have any physical limitations, and who are not pregnant or puerperant. The sample of the study consists of 250 people with body measurements in the 34-42 size range. In the study, first, a literature review was conducted to gather information about the subject. Then, the measurements required to prepare the patterns for the production of clothing were taken from the women of the sample defined by following certain rules. Three-dimensional simulation images were prepared using design programs in the computer , which were divided into groups in the 34-42 size range, taking the chest circumference measurements as a reference according to the averages of the measurements. According to the averages of the standard size table used in the metric system, the basic size and basic arm patterns for each size are in the 34-42 size range and were prepared in two dimensions in the computer. Finally, the size table created from the measurements taken from the sample and the standard size table belonging to the metric system were compared in three dimensions in terms of size and pattern compatibility. As a result of these comparisons, it was concluded that there are inconsistencies in the basic body pattern, especially around the waist and hips.
